You are in a land of wine. No, really. According to all relevant statistics Italy is a leading wine producer. Just to compare, Italy produces one fifth more litres of wine than France, which is holding the second position while having smaller territory and at least five million inhabitants less than France.
From the far north homeland of Prosecco to the ever sunny homeland of exotic Marsala in Sicily, you can find abundance of sorts of wine. Land is rich with flavour and sun is benevolently shining most of the year. Gentle Mediterranean climate is naturally controlling all the processes. According to the scientific data people started producing wine in Sicily 4000 BC. That’s a lot of time to practice and to become really good at what you do.
We have created this Wine tasting tour with the idea to show you as many wines from all the Italy, without getting you badly drunk, of course. Depending on the season our standard offer should more or less consist out of following sorts:
- Prosecco - Veneto region
- Moscatto d’Asti - region around Turin
- Chianti - region Toscana
- Pecorino - region Lazio
- Primitivo - region Puglia
- Nero d’Avola - island of Sicily,
and every now and then we find something exotic that you cannot get every day.
Tasting is held in a secret wine bars in a tranquility of a beautiful Roman Pignetto, far from the crowd and noise. Our guide is a certified sommelier and besides his expertise in the topic he is the funniest person in Rome.
All of it combined can surely guarantee you an evening to remember.
